This term in the Ladybird room, we have been exploring different shapes and
identifying them throughout our nursery. Additionally, we’ve been focusing on
environmental sounds to help with initial sound recognition. Children have
engaged in indoor and outdoor sound hunts, where they listen for sounds and
identify their initial letters in their surroundings. You can continue supporting
your child at home by listening to environmental sounds during your walks to
nursery. In promoting health and hygiene, children in the Ladybird room have
been learning to clean themselves properly using tissues, changing clothes, and
placing them on their assigned pegs. They are also practicing patience and
name writing. During lunchtime, the children participate in a social experiment
where they demonstrate great table manners, tidy up after themselves, and use
cutlery appropriately. These daily routines foster independence and
responsibility in our young learners.
